Helping Others

 As Buddhists we recognise the huge importance of helping other people.
We cultivate compassion whilst meditating, towards ourselves and to others. This is not just a passive act, because the compassion  flows into our lives, as compassion in action. Kindness, generosity, empathy flow. 
Many of us have worked in caring professions. The following organisations are ones we actively support as well.

Young Indian Futures

An organisation devoted to giving disadvantaged young people in India dignity and independence by training them in modern technology. 


The Karuna Trust

A charity which has worked in South Asia  for over 30yrs with local community groups to help overcome suffering of the very poorest people. Karuna supports between 40-50 projects run by local partners. They concentrate on Education, Women’s Empowerment & Gender Equality, Capacity Building, Advocacy, Wellbeing, and Livelihoods. These projects benefit more than 50,000 people every year.

The Green Tara Trust

A charity which focuses on improving the health of women and children in rural Nepal.
