Celebrating Sangha Day 22 November

November brought Sangha day when we gathered to celebrate the importance of spiritual friendship. The shrine was beautifully adorned with red flowers, the colour of the sangha jewel, and the precious hanging which has been a part of the North Wales Buddhists' gatherings for some 15 years reminded us that the energy of sangha contains not just those able to be present in the here and now but also all those who have been part of the sangha stretching back over time.

After settling with a meditation, those gathered shared what sangha means to them, either by sharing a poem or reading or saying a few words of their own. There was an air of playfulness and joy about the morning, with shared refreshments (including delicious apple cake and peerless baked cheesecake) and a song led by Amita: Bob Marley's 'Three Little Birds' .  Joy and gratitude in sangha!
